We
are a small cattery
located in the Columbus,
Ohio area. This is
a family affair as
you can see in the
photo, my mother Joann
Patrone on the right,
my sister Tina Patrone
on the left, and myself
in the middle. My
mother and sister
live in the Youngstown,
Ohio area, a short
driving distance from
Columbus. We share
our cats and travel
to shows two to three
times a month. This
is a photo of us accepting
our Regional Award
for GC, GP, RW Jkzoo
Navarre Pikachu, a
red tabby and white
Exotic. The cattery
was born from our
immense love of all
animals, cats in particular.
My family and I
started our show
careers in different
directions. I started
in 1993 with two
Himalayans. I showed
them in the household
pet category, became
hooked and decided
to look for a particular
breed to show. While
attending a show
in Pittsburgh, Pa
I saw these fabulous
huge cats and fell
in love instantly.
I had to have one!
So came Darby and
Merlin, my first
two Maine Coon show
cats. My mother
and sister chose
a different route
as they loved the
Exotic shorthairs
so for Mother's
Day in 1999 we purchased
two Exotics from
Jerry Kithcart and
Steve Oster, Jkzoo
Cattery. This started
my mother and sister
in the show circuit.
What a great start,
our first Exotic,
GC, GP, RW Jkzoo
Navarre Pikachu
was Great Lakes
Region's 18th Best
Cat in Premiership
for the 2000-2001
show season. Our
first Exotic, our
first Regional win!
How much fun is
this!!!
I
have many people
to thank for my
start and continued
successes. To Sharon
and Bill Powell
of The Cat Spa Maine
Coon cats for mentoring
and for the love
of my life, GP The
Cat Spa's Bravo
Rocco and CH Highlander
Danyelle. To Rick
Hoskinson for Richson
Lord Bexley, our
first try with the
Cornish Rex breed.
To Amy Wilson of
Luvdalot Maine Coons
for designing my
website and entrusting
me with Luvdalot's
Eli Yoder of Highlander
and Luvdalot's Jazmyn
of Highlander. To
Ramona and Paul
Shuba and Sue and
Bill Storten, what
would I do without
you and the sharing
of your wonderful
cats. I am so honored
to be a part of
your successes.
I am now entering
into phase two of
my show career ~
breeding cats. I
recently co-bred
a litters of Exotics
with Jerry Kithcart
and Steve Oster.
I have bred my first
litter of Maine
Coons with the help
of Bill and Sharon
Powell of The Cat
Spa. The Cat Spa's
Sabrina and Lijakae
Apollo welcomed
four beautiful coonlets
on June 14, 2003.
I am keeping a female
from the litter,
my first breeding
female, Highlander's
Danyelle. We are
now in full breeding
mode at Highlander
and with the help
of Shubacoons and
Mckittycreek, I
have a breeding
male GC RW Shubacoons
Kenworth of Highlander,
my love. He is producing
some of the most
wonderful kittens
for us at Highlander.
His niece, Desdemona
came to grace us
with her presence,
and for the 2005-2006
season, she attained
a NATIONAL WIN for
all of us and our
catteries. GC NW
Shubacoons Desdemona
of Highlander is
CFA's fourth highest
scoring allbreed
kitten and highest
scoring maine coon
kitten to date in
CFA history. With
these wonderful
cats, Highlander
will continue on
to produce the lovely
kittens from the
legacy of others
so generous to share.
Warmest Wishes,
Teresa & Edwin
